After clearing cache and reauthenticating it still would not work on Xfinity (other methods fine phone/pc etc.) I was only able to get it to work by unplugging xfi box for 30 seconds and powering back up. Then went back to HBO Max app, re-signed in again as Xfinity as provider and it seems to be working now.
