Thanks for the reply! Its a good idea to have at least 1 fire weapon, there are a lot of enemies weak to fire especially in the cathedral area. It has its uses. Especially if you are not investing into strength or dex, later you will want to infuse with chaos once you have the int and faith to make it worth it. And have the coal to do so.
