STOP WITH THE TAPERS. Get rid of them, chuck em out. Stretching should never hurt. Ever. Single flare glass or titanium plugs are your best bet. You are jumping larger sizes going from 8G to 6G, you are best to get a 7G. From about 8G, half sizes are your friend. Its also very important to lightly tug ur jewelry during the day so ur lobes loosen up. gud luck an happy stretching. If I were you I would downsize to 8G (or smaller if you can't fit the 8G in), treat it like a fresh piercing (sea salt soaks are much better than antibacterial soaps which are too harsh IMO), and wait a few months before trying to stretch again.
