I'd say the only ones to avoid would be spear, one hand mace, and the new greataxe. Everything else has strong use cases. Best all-round would probably be axe+shield and greatsword. #8. Provides easy access to the north, is a relatively quiet neighbourhood with no serious monsters in the immediate vicinity and is also pretty convenient for trips back to the south.

Katana- On Exile Lands use Musashis Black Blade for PvE and the Seven Winds for PvP. Both of the best katanas on Exile lands are farmed Legendaries which is bothersome. On Siptah, Sapping Blade is best if you have Prescicion Strike. If you don't, Seven Winds is better if it has an Oil of Agony on it. Toxic player also foundationed in a portion of the water to build super massive base that is causing people to have system crashes in that portion of map.The southernmost river eventually comes to a large lake. Right around G7/H7 Border is where I useually build. also with a Rhino or Elephant, you are within really close range to the largest area of Iron on the map (That I am aware of) at the base of the Tower of the Bat.
