You might be able to do it without, but it will require a great combination of no server lag, no game stutter (such as when it loads animations into ram or w/e for the first time), and your own ability to pay attention to boring boss mechanics for 30min straight. Hellux is simply too tedious to kill.

hellux needs a variety of things, namely high lvl nodes on top of stats from 17* equips (atk/matk is a rare and potent stat) range isn’t really a good indicator of anything because there’s so much going into it. you’d best look at stat, IED/boss dmg, links, nodes, surviving hellux oneshots, and starring up your gear.

Easy Mode, yes. It's all about whether you can burst down the Gem in the 90sec timer. Easy only has 10mil on the Gem, you can kill it easily. Normal has 600mil on the Gem. That's slightly less than what Easy Mode Von Leon has in total. If you can burst down Easy Von Leon in a minute and a half, you will be able to do Normal Gollux.
