The method used by TK dodge is an older method that I think uses an animation, which has to be loaded and can (and usually does) result in input lag. TUDM utilizes a recently invented modding tool or technique that creates the same effect in a different way, I think by using something called "behavior," so there's no input lag.

CGO+ is currently the best. I play with a controller and it just feels so right. Like it should have been included with the base game. CGO has the best animations and even using the hotkey method it's just as fast the ultimate dodge mod. It also has a bunch of other great features and fixes.

You are asking why it messes with the armor, it is because it adds a roll sound to the chest armour, this is the same thing with kids mods like tkaa and rs children. You can make a patch for it to add the sound to the chest armor in xedit.
