You don't really need to farm early legendaries, but if you decide you want to the Unkempt Harold is a good choice. I've had an Unkempt Harold overpower everything I found even 10 or so levels later, until I replaced it with another Unkempt Harold from a WAR Loader. As far as skills go, in early NVHM you can go with just about anything.

I honestly don't believe it took you 7 hours. With a rougly 10% drop chance and a really quick farm that usually doesn't take longer than 2 minutes per save quit, this lasting a whole 7 hours is hard to believe. Not to mention that there's a decent chance to also spawn an extra Savage Lee so you sometimes have 2 chances per save quit
