The yellow fir symbol, for items needed for quests, only appears if all conditions are met for a gunsmith quest, so thats a fast way to check if the weapon is able to be turned in. it doesn't appear only if conditions are met. I had the the yellow fir marker on just the basic guns I currently needed.
