There is no definitive best class in Calamity. All of them have good and bad sides, but it all depends on how you want to play. If you want to be tanky go Melee. If you want high DPS but with resource management, go Magic. If you just want straight damage, go Ranger. If you want to focus on dodging whilst still doing good damage, go Summoner. What is the best class in calamity? There is no best class. Mage is very aoe heavy and glass cannon like but has some good lifesteal early on even though lifesteal is nerfed in calamity. I would say that mage is the best for fighting the endgame bosses just because of subsuming vortex / void vortex.
