I’m gonna talk about infantry because that’s where I have the most experience. Combat width is hard, different for different zones, I usually just go for 27-30. It’s SP, it’s gonna work ok :) You generally don’t want to mix foot infantry and tanks/motorized, one of their strengths is speed and infantry only moves at 4.
