What I did was go to the Traxxas website and download the slash 2wd vxl model manual. In it, contains the gearing chart. It's not much different. But will help. It's been so long since I've looked in the gearbox on mine, but I think I went with 23/86 first, then dropped it to 19/86 to try that out. I've gone back and forth with it.

I purchased the 2200kv/VXL6s combo motor/esc, along with a 46t Spur gear, thinking we'd want to change the gearing to keep performance similar on 4s. My local rep advised me to use the stock 23p pinion gear along with the 46t Spur gear, which in theory is a real close ratio at 2 vs stock 2.17.
