My PvE base is in F9, north-west of the Demon Spider Vault. There is a decent sized ledge on the cliff face with a narrow access point between the cliff and a tall rock pillar that make it VERY easy to defend from a Purge. In the valley beneath the ledge you can find gold, silver, iron, coal, black ice and brimstone.
